Diagnostics & Treatment
Experience combined with the latest research brings certainty in diagnosis and confidence in treatment – tailored to your personal situation.
The course of the examination
We take the time for your symptoms, your history and your questions.
The relevant blood tests reveal how your thyroid is functioning.
High-resolution ultrasound of the thyroid, parathyroid glands and soft tissues of the neck.
Where needed, we complete the assessment with high-resolution scintigraphy.
You – and, if you wish, your referring doctor – receive clear, written findings and a concrete treatment proposal.
Services at a glance
Everything starts with a thorough conversation: symptoms, previous conditions, medications and family history are carefully reviewed. This determines which examinations make sense for you.
Thyroid hormones and TSH are measured, supplemented by antibodies and further parameters where needed. We discuss the results together, in plain language.
For certain questions, calcitonin is measured specifically – a sensitive marker that can point early to rare changes in the thyroid’s C-cells and plays an important role in follow-up monitoring.
The thyroid, parathyroid glands and soft tissues of the neck are imaged in high resolution with the Canon Aplio beyond. Superb Microvascular Imaging reveals the smallest vessels and helps classify nodules precisely.
Scintigraphy shows how the thyroid tissue functions and distinguishes active from inactive areas – particularly helpful with nodules and in an overactive thyroid.
For this, a small amount of a weakly radioactive tracer (technetium-99m) is administered, which is briefly taken up by the thyroid. A dedicated camera then makes its distribution visible. The examination is short, painless and involves a very low radiation dose.
If you are on hormone therapy, I accompany you with regular blood tests and adjust the dosage where needed. This keeps your levels stable over time and your treatment tuned precisely to you.
To conclude, you – and, if you wish, your referring doctor – receive detailed written findings and a concrete treatment proposal. Any open questions we settle together in a personal conversation.
After thyroid surgery I accompany you through hormone adjustment and the necessary check-ups. Care remains seamless beyond the operation itself.
In the case of tumour disease, follow-up is structured, with regular laboratory and ultrasound checks – coordinated with the treating hospitals.
Follow-up care
Care that
carries on.
After thyroid surgery or in the case of a tumour, carefully coordinated post-operative care is decisive for the long-term course.
I accompany you through this phase with regular check-ups, adjust the treatment as needed and remain your point of contact – well beyond the acute period of treatment.
